Product Description Take your entire music collection on your travels with the NWZ-B135 Walkman from Sony. This compact music player comes with 2 GB of memory, allowing you to store tons of your favourite tracks. The NWZ-B135 Walkman is compatible with MP3 and WMA (non protected) formats, or approximately 500 encoded songs in 128 Kbps. Sound is as true to life as possible, because the NWZ-B135 Walkman is equipped with an audio equaliser (four pre-set and two custom modes) and bass improvement technology. The NWZ-B135 is quick to charge, providing you with 90 minutes of non-stop music in just 3 minutes, or up to 16 hours of stand-by time. Those of you with an eye for detail will notice that the red power light flashes to the beat of your music, enabling you to listen to your favourite hits in style!

Good sound, shuffle doesn't work! January 3, 2009 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I like to fill my mp3 player with a broad range of music and play it in a random order? Is that too much to ask?
This player fails to deliver for two reasons:
1. It takes ages to find the next track when in shuffle mode 2. This is the biggie - shuffle always plays the tracks in the same order! Even doing a reset makes no difference.
You'd think Sony of all people would be able to get such a fundamental feature right. However good the sound might be, I can only rate it at three stars for that reason.
Great unit for the price January 2, 2009 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've been looking around for a brand-name quality unit for a while that had enough space for a significant number of tracks but without being too expensive or big or fragile.
This Sony unit absolutely fits the bill. It's well made with simple menu-driven operation, good battery life, and an attractive, compact design. I wanted a screen to show what I'm selecting and this one is just enough.
Now that Sony have done away with the dodgy SonicStage software, music transfer is now just drag-and-drop. I haven't tried synchronising with Media Player or similar so can't comment on that but I expect it wouldn't be a problem.
Killer feature for me is the quick charge feature (plug it in for 3 minutes and it gets enough charge for 90 minutes of use). This is ideal for a quick boost before heading out for a short trip/gym/run.
The only thing stopping me giving the full 5 stars are the headphones. The supplied set offer a very standard performance and a rather uncomfortable fit in the ear due to being all hard plastic. Borrowing my partner's iPod headphones (which have a soft rubber edging and are supplied as standard with all iPods, including the lowly Shuffle), the sound and comfort level improved. I then tried the unit with a pair of Sennheiser HD201 open headphones. The result was an excellent sound, with no need to change the EQ settings to improve bass. This shows that the unit is able to deliver a great sound if you get better quality headphones - true of many devices.
So in summary, this unit is brilliant for the casual or sporty user who just wants an MP3 player to play music. The quick charge feature is a godsend. The only let-down for me is the supplied headphone set (soon to be substituted after a quick browse elsewhere on Amazon...)
Great product, great value! January 2, 2009 This has good quality sound, easy to use with a clear menu. Earphones are good and stay in your ears. The menu is great allows you to view albums and add which ones you like to the playlist rather than only viewing all the tracks singley. It has a bass button which doesn't make the sound necessarily better but is fine none the less. Its a light product and fantastic value. Stores all you need, definately better than most on the market-especially for the price and i have shopped around.
Looking for the USB connection? December 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The USB connector is incorporated with this item, and can be found by removing a cover, labeled 'USB cap' (14) on the Parts and Controls illustrated in the Quick Start Guide.
(If you have lost the Quick Start Guide, try pulling off the cap with the 'Walkman' logo, at the opposite end of the unit to the earphones outlet.)
Superb December 11, 2008 24 out of 25 found this review helpful
Out of the blue, I decided to buy a music player that doesn't need you changing the CD after each set of songs. I got this, and how pleased I am with it. First of all, the player looks great. A smart, shiny black with a slick power illuminator that falshes in time with the beats of your favourite tracks. The menu is extremely easy to navigate, allowing three options/songs to be shown at any one time. To navigate, you only need four buttons: Play/Select, Skip Forward/Up, Skip back/Down and the back button, simple. Again the menu looks great with a nice aqua blue. The sound is great, nice and loud. You can toggle through the type of sound that best suits your genre of music (eg. Metal, Pop). There is also a shuffle option as you'd expect. You can shuffle through all songs on your MP3 or through specific folders that you have created. The music is simple to upload, simply drag the file into the folder that you want it to be in.
Overall, I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a music player of excellent quality that doesn't break the bank.
