Does the Job! November 23, 2008 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I bought this clock radio as a 10th birthday present for my son, and it does exactly what it says on the tin (ok, box). It has a dual alarm setting, cd player, dab radio and ipod/mp3 connection via a small wire. I don't know what the 1-star reviewer expected of this, but the sound is really good for a radio... it's not supposed to be as good as a top quality hi-fi but my son thinks it's fab and often turns the volume way up (without any distortion) until I 'ask' him to turn it down! The display light can be very bright if you want it to be or you can dim it or turn it off completely. It's a very compact and modern looking radio that's very easy to set up and use and well worth the 60 I paid for it. I'm even considering getting another 2 of these for my husband and my older son... it's that good!

Overpriced and avoid. April 7, 2008 20 out of 24 found this review helpful
This really is one to avoid - so much so that it's on onroute back to AMazon for a refund. The sound (from the radion and CD) is not would you would expect from SONY,in fact put me in mind of those cheapo Binatone makes of years ago. Unit itself is more bulky than it needs to be and whilst the blue lighting is impressive it does not dull enough to just be aware of the time it felt as if it was lighting the whole room - handy I guess if you need to find your way without switching a light on but infuriating when trying to get to sleep!Once my refund has been given I will be looking for an alternative unit at the moment my 23 year old Sanyo has been ressurected!
