Just Brilliant!!! December 30, 2008 I took delivery of one of these systems today, and I havent been able to switch it off since I set it up. The sound Quality is mind blowing!! Picture quality through HDMI is brilliant and I am so impressed with this I have took to writing a review of it to spread the good news!!
Just Superior Sound Quality December 23, 2008 I got this product couple of weeks back and must say I am very impressed with it. I was choosing between Sony DAV-DZ260 and this one. I am glad I bought this one. It is a 100 more but worth as the Tallboy design makes it look more elegant.
Heres my view on the product.
Setup Very easy to setup. Instructions are very clear to assemble it. Most of the default settings give a crisp output. Plenty of wiring supplied.
Looks It looks great. It adds character to your Living room. The stands are sturdy and heavy. It worth to buy this as you would anyways pay 50-60 for stands.
Quality Just Great. I have used other 5.1 cinema systems, this one is right up there. Crytal clear Sound. I use it with my Sky+ HD box which has Dolby 5.1ch output and have connected it through an Optical Audio input to the home cinema system. The Output is fantastic. You can hear every small detail. Action movies will have you sitting up on your sofa.. Have seen quite a few movies and it really gives the Cinema effect. Subwoofer will have your neighbours at your doorsteps. Its good. Even listening to the radio is pleasure..
DVD player Havent used it much but tested a few DVDs. Picture quality looks good. It does upscale the picture. You can see the difference.
It does what its supposed to do.. I would have loved it even more, if it had a couple of HDMI inputs as well(Present in the later models. Something to consider when u are buying a Home Cinema as most TVs, set top boxes, game consoles and Bluray players today have HDMI outputs. Make managing all these easy).
All in all.. A Must have.. Very happy with the product.
This system is worth purchasing and BRILLIANT!!! November 15, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This cinema system is VALUE for money. I read many reviews and based on my own opinion I agree with everyone. I purchase this system yesterday and I am very very impressed with the quality of the sound and the price. The surround sounds is fantastic and makes you feel as if you are actually in a cinema. playing audio is brilliant, its crystal clear and sounds perfect, subwoofer is no joke, it will make you move. The set up is a bit time consuming but put it this way, your putting together a brilliant system so time is of the essence. Once the system is setup the modifications are very quick and simple. The machine more or less does everything for you anyway by a few clicks of a button.
To all of you who like to use the surround sound when watching standard TV, you will need a scart lead. Other than that the HDMI cable will do the rest for DVD/Blu Ray Players, so bare this in mind. This makes movie's all the more enjoyable
Purchase this and you wont regret it as i havent.

Well I'd say the most accurate review so far of this system has to be from M. Zontek "el nino", and thanks to his good review I'm just buying a Digital Optical Cable for my XBOX 360 so I can get the surround sound.
I've got the 40" Sony Bravia TV so obviously went for the Sony Cinema system too.. The only downsides I can think of this system is the lack of ports into the amp/DVD player and the instruction manual is a bit confusing (It might be me being a bit mongy though). Otherwise a quality system and would recommend it.
5 Stars!

I bought this item this week and have to say that yet again Sony makes an amazing product! But before you even think about getting your credit card out, ask yourself what are you buying it for? Music? Movies? Games? or just for an overall surround sound experience? I personally got this system for my PS3 I thought since I have the Sony Bravia TV and the PS3 is Sony as well, the connectivity should be piece of cake.... well I was wrong After a lot of desperate research I had to buy a digital optical cable (17 - Maplins) that runs from my PS3 to the amp, and only then i managed to get all the speakers working while using the PS3 When I tried to watch tv throught the speakers I used the hdmi output running from the tv to the amp... but that didnt work?!? I only got a picture on a seperate channel for the dvd's, For the tv to play through the surround speakers I will either have to use the SCART connection or the more commonly known 3 audio cables (red, yeloow, white)
So look exactly at the connection your tv and other stuff and think how you're gonna connect it all up with this system which in my opinion, could have had a little more connections available. Another downside is the setting up of the speakers. The screws arent very durable and you dont wana run the wrong cable to the wrong speaker, and then having to do it ALL again... trust me, been there!
But overall after settig it all up, it's an amazing system, which in other places goes for 400! It's sounds as good as it looks. Crystal clear sound which I'd never dare to play max volume!
